Let's just cut to the chase...this is for accountability. So, frankly...if one person reads this and identifies with HATING exercise, almost as much as I do...than it is a miracle of our Lord and Savior. My Friend Brit really changed her life when she started running- not just "losing weight" because I don't want to shed off half my body mass...but she just became a more disciplined person with her life. Basically, she wasn't lazy. And since I'm a grad student, when I'm done with class...all I want to do is nap, or eat...or watch Grey's Anatomy.
I am not fat. But I'm not in shape.
I know blogs are "trendy"...and believe me, I HATE trends...but I want to do this right. And that might mean talking to myself on the computer, because every running partner I ever had gave UP training with me or ate an entire carton of cookie dough and offered me to dive in with them. It has always been easier for me to NOT exercise...so therefore, I don't...though, I look like I do. However...I live a lie.
So, that ended today.
Today, I faced a lot of fears...and ran.
Kinda.
So, this is what I'm facing in regards to my "fears:" cute guys at the gym thinking im a loser, not being able to BREATHE because i cannot run, being thirsty...sweating is gross...and every part of my body hurting and then...my mind is ultimately tells me to stop because I complain too much. OMG- make it stop...
TODAY happened though...and nothing was going to stop me...but that's how it always happens; day 1 is always easy-everyone is always excited about day 1. its day 32 i have a problem with...and actually every day in between.
so, today was 30 minutes of interval running, no more, no less.
and I wasn't that thirsty.
and my body hurt a little...but it wasn't that bad.
and there were absolutely NO cute guys at the gym at 2 in the afternoon.
and it wasn't hard.
it just made me not want to be a wuss and want to run MORE.
and i just shake my head sometimes at myself wondering why its so hard to push myself now that i'm out of college-what am i so afraid of?
